Professional Development

All our Teachers, Therapists and Support Staff undergo constant professional development to ensure the highest level of competency in implementing the curriculum.

All school staff will:

  • Model positive behaviour to students consistent with the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support Framework
  • Communicate politely and respectfully with all members of the school community
  • Proactively engage with families about student outcomes
  • Work with families to understand the needs of each student and, where necessary, adapt the learning environment accordingly
  • Work collaboratively with families to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes for all students
  • Communicate with the principal and school leaders in the event they anticipate or face any tension or challenging behaviours from families
  • Treat all members of the school community with respect

 

We will support and encourage our families to:

  • model positive behaviour to students
  • communicate politely and respectfully with all members of the school community
  • ensure our student attends school on time, every day unless they are unwell or unable to attend for another extenuating reason
  • take an interest in our child’s school and learning work with the school to achieve the best outcomes for our child
  • communicate constructively with the school and use expected processes and protocols when raising concerns
  • support school staff to maintain a safe learning environment for all students
  • follow the school’s processes for communication with staff and making complaints
  • treat all members of the school community with respect

 

We will support and encourage our students to:

  • follow school-wide behaviour expectations
  • follow their school-wide Positive Behaviour Plan with assistance from teachers
  • communicate politely and respectfully with all members of the school community
  • comply with and model school values
  • behave in a safe and responsible manner
  • show respect for themselves, others and the environment
  • actively participate in school

 

We will support and encourage our community members to:

  • model positive behaviour to the school community
  • treat other members of the school community with respect
  • support school staff to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • utilise the school’s processes for communication with staff and submitting complaints
